The MLB slate has several exciting matchups on Monday, so let's target two of the top hitters to find success in their home games.
Oakland Athletics vs. San Diego Padres Prediction
The San Diego Padres host the Oakland A's for the first game of a 3-game series, and I'm taking Luis Arraez to record a hit for the first leg of my parlay. Arraez is coming off an 0-for-5 performance yesterday, which simply doesn't happen much as he has recorded at least one hit in 78% of his games this season. On the year, Arraez is batting .365 against right-handed pitchers which is the highest mark in all of baseball amongst players with at least 50 plate appearances. The efficiency we've seen from Arraez at the plate is nothing new. He's a two-time batting champion and an elite hitter but what's even more impressive is the fact that he continues to produce despite being on his third team in three seasons. Since he was acquired by the Padres, he has recorded at least one hit in 27 out of his 32 starts and he hasn't gone hitless in back to back games yet which is why I'm confident he bounces back with at least one base knock tonight.
New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction
The Kansas City Royals take on the New York Yankees tonight at home for the first matchup of a 4-game set. The player I'm targeting to pair with Arraez is Bobby Witt Jr. who has been on an absolute heater at the plate. Witt Jr. comes into this matchup riding a 10-game hit streak and he's recorded at least one hit in 20 of his last 21 games. At home in front of the Royals crowd is where Bobby thrives, he's batting .363 on his home field and has a hit in 80% of his home games. Tonight he will face off with left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon, who has been very solid for the Yankees' pitching staff this year but his expected ERA projects for a bit of regression with it being 1.24 higher than his actual ERA. Witt Jr. has been seeing left-handed pitchers well and boasts a .412 batting average over his last 18 plate appearances facing off with south paw pitchers.
We have a small 7-game MLB slate tonight, but it's hard to go wrong backing two of the top hitters in baseball for a hit parlay, especially when you consider their matchups. Two hits is all we need to cash, so we can start this week with a winner!
