The Athletics will send out Luis Medina first to the mound. Medina is in his second year in the MLB with the Athletics and sporting a 5.40 career ERA. Medina has only had two start so far this season and is sporting a 5.23 ERA over those two starts. He opened with 5.2 shutout innings against the Braves, and then was hit for six earned runs against the Blue Jays in his last start.
The Twins should have a decent time putting up runs against Medina tonight, who has already struggled this year, along with the Twins offense picking it up over the last two weeks against right handed pitching, hitting .253 against right handed pitching over the last 14 days.
Starting tonight for the Twins will be right handed pitcher Joe Ryan. Ryan has been one of the more consistent pieces of the Twins starting rotation since debuting in 2021. He is supporting 3.91 career ERA since then, and has started off this season with a 3.3 ERA. His strikeout stuff has been on point, as always, striking out 85 batters in 79 innings so far this year.
Joe Ryan should have a good time pitching against the Oakland A’s tonight, who have struggle against right hand pitching this season.
