We are heading back to the diamond for this one tonight as the New York Yankees (49-22) are heading down the East Coast for a clash with the Boston Red Sox (35-34) at Fenway Park in the series opener for this weekend showdown in the American League East. This is the first time these two squads will square off this season and I expect the boys in pinstripes to have the edge here in game one.

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox Prediction
It's a rivalry game here tonight but I don't think it is comparable to years past. Boston has been holding their own but this is a mismatch for them tonight; they are without all star shortstop Trevor Story for the season which weakens the lineup and you need all the slugging you can get against this Yankees rotation.
Rising superstar Luis Gil has the ball for the Yankees sporting a 2.04 ERA to go along with his 8-1 record on the season. The rookie has been absolutely fantastic and should keep it going.
Bryan Bello has the ball for the Red Sox and while he has not been and this season, he hasn't been great either. The right hasta 4.78 ERA on the season to go along with a 6-3 record. This Yankees lineup is just so incredibly talented and dangerous, I love this spot for them off the loss in the series opener of a rivalry game. I'm on the pinstripes.
