Yesterday’s three-pick home run parlay did not come through for us, so today we are dialing it back to two picks. We are going to two parks with great weather for home runs tonight. We are going to the Astros vs. White Sox game and then the Mets vs. Rangers game tonight.
Pick One: Luis Robert Jr. Home Run +430
Home run bet number one takes us to Guaranteed Rate field, where the Astros and White Sox are playing in game two of their series. The player I’m going with in this game to hit a home run is Luis Robert of the White Sox. Luis Robert is one of the best hitters in this White Sox lineup, and he has an unbelievable hard-hit rate percentage of 54.8%. He also has an average exit velocity of 92.7 mph. That makes him a great candidate to hit a home run off of Hunter Brown tonight. Hunter Brown will be the starting pitcher for the Astros tonight and has given up 11 home runs in 68.1 innings this year. Luis Robert is 2–3 with a home run off Hunter Brown in his career, owning a very small sample size against the Astros' pitcher, but still having a home run off him. Robert has been hot with the home run hitting in June despite struggling overall in the box. He is hitting .152 in June but has five home runs in 46 at bats. As long as he can hit a ball tonight, the weather conditions and starting pitching matchup should give him a pretty good chance to hit one out for us tonight.
Pick Two: J.D. Martinez Home Run +330
The next pick takes us to Globe Life Field in Texas, where the Mets and Rangers are playing in game three of their series. The home run pick I'm going with in this game is J.D. Martinez of the Mets.
J.D. Martinez is going up against Andrew Heaney tonight, the Rangers left-handed starting pitcher. He has given up 10 home runs and 66.2 innings this season and J.D. Martinez has done very good against him in his career. Martinez is 4–11 off in his career with two home runs. He has hit more home runs against Heaney than any other Met in the lineup tonight. Martinez has done much better against lefty pitchers this year, which fits the mold in this matchup against Heaney. Martinez is hitting .340 off left-handed pitching and .264 off right-handed pitching.
He has already hit three home runs and just 46 at-bats against lefties, while just hitting five of his eight home runs against righties in 125 at-bats. Martinez has hit three home runs in his last six games and has been barreling up the ball well over the past 10 days. Martinez will bring us home as a second leg in our home run parlay.
