The Mariners have an elite young core of starting pitchers. At the top of that list is Bryan Woo, who has yet to lose a game this season and has an ERA hovering around 1.00 on the season. In his six starts this year, he has only given up more than one run one time. If Woo has been so dominant, then why are the Guardians catching so much steam?
Cleveland opened up short favorites, but have since been steamed up to (-155) on most books. Only around 50% of the bets and handle (on VSiN) are currently backing the Guardians on the moneyline, but they have become significantly heavier favorites throughout the day. The move is weird considering Woo’s success this season and Tanner Bibee’s recent struggles…
What do the books know about the Guardians tonight? Why are they giving them this much respect in the midst of a three-game losing streak? I’m willing to bet we see one of Bibee’s best starts of the season on Wednesday. They haven’t faced him much in his young career, and the ones that have faced him struggled. The Mariners don’t score much on the road, and after putting up 8 runs last night, I don’t see them replicating that success again.
With the total dropping and the odd on CLE ML only getting worse, lock-in the Guardians for the third game of this series between the Mariners and Guardians. Tanner Bibee is a better starting pitcher than he’s shown, and it’s only a matter of time before we see Bryan Woo regress. The Guardians wouldn’t be laying this much juice on the moneyline if oddsmakers didn’t think they were getting the win tonight.
