Welcome to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, we set a new season high with a sixth straight parlay victory. Today, we look to extend that streak and make it seven straight. It won't be easy, but these two guys will help get the job done!
WEDNESDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: ANTHONY VOLPE (NYY) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Anthony Volpe. Volpe took us home yesterday. Let’s see if he can do it again. Volpe now has a hit in eight straight game. Today, Volpe faces off against Sean Manaea and the Mets in Game 2 of the Subway Series.
Volpe is batting a ridiculous .333 vs lefties this month and he gets another lefty today. We also like how Volpe doesn’t take a lot of walks (only three in the month of June) and is great at putting the ball in play. Batting leadoff and on the road today, Volpe will have several opportunities to get us a hit today. Hopefully the hit can come in the first at-bat like it did yesterday for us!
LEG 2: FREDDIE FREEMAN (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of the hit parlay: Freddie Freeman. Today, Freddie gets a familiar matchup against Erick Fedde and the White Sox. Fedde hasn’t pitched with Chicago long, but Freddie saw him a ton during his Nationals days.
In 24 Plate Appearances against Fedde, Freddie went 5 for 18 (.278) with six walks. Obviously, walks don’t help us today, but that was also back when Fedde was a 10% or higher walk guy. This season, that is down to 6.2%. I’m confident he throws pitches for Freeman to hit. Fedde loves his offspeed pitches (Sinker, Cutter, Sweeper and Changeup), all of which Freeman is crushing. He’s also batting .339 against Righties this year.
