The Dodgers were catching some flack during the All-Star Break for not staying for Teoscar Hernandez’ HR Derby win. They’ve silenced those chirps after sweeping the Red Sox out of the break. Tonight, they will face Blake Snell and the Giants at home. Will they struggle against the veteran lefty, or will the Dodgers win their fourth game in a row out of the All Star Break?

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
Blake Snell struggled early-on this season, but he’s coming off his two best outings of the year. After taking nearly a month off between June and July, Snell has looked much more like his former Cy Young-winning self against the Twins and Blue Jays this month. He’s lowered his season ERA from 10.42 to 6.31 in his last couple of starts, I want to buy-low on Snell before the public gets involved…
The Dodgers just swept the Red Sox at home. They now welcome in a struggling San Francisco team that, although is struggling offensively, definitely has the pitching advantage in the first game of this series. The Dodgers will be trotting out River Ryan for his MLB debut on Monday night. The sparknotes on this kid have me worried for Dodgers bettors tonight… he has goof stuff, but he hasn’t been able to pitch more than five innings in any recent start.
The Dodgers typically have a very solid bullpen, but they have struggled mightily of late. If River Ryan isn’t able to go deep into this ballgame, the Dodgers are going to once again have to rely on their struggling bullpen. I like the Giants chances of capitalizing on this in the later innings of this game, and I trust Blake Snell enough to limit the Dodgers offensive production early on.
The Giants opened up (+130) underdogs on the moneyline before the pitching announcement was made official for Los Angeles. The Giants are now barely underdogs in this game, which is some serious respect from oddsmakers considering the Dodgers are coming off a sweep. Fade the Dodgers and their rookie making his debut tonight; I’ll meet you at the cash counter after Snell pitches another gem.
