Best Bets Today: Wednesday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot

Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, our parlay was a sweat free winner. Today, I request the same outcome. Let's get things going. Early Day Games today!

WEDNESDAY'S MLB PARLAY

LEG 1: AARON NOLA (PHI) OVER 17.5 OUTS

Our first leg of the Parlay: Aaron Nola over 17.5 outs. Nola is a workhorse for the Phillies and he faces the Twins in an early afternoon showdown. This line is too juiced for playing it straight so we’ll use it as a parlay piece.

To cash this over we need Nola to go six innings and cash 18 outs. Prior to his last outing in Pittsburgh, Nola went over this line in five straight. The Twins offense was shutout by Wheeler yesterday. I imagine Nola follows the blueprint Wheeler laid yesterday and pitches an efficient outing for us. Over the last two weeks, the Twins are 26th in batting average against righties only hitting .207. With as bad as the Phillies bullpen has been recently, they’re looking for Nola to deliver six innings and cash the first leg of this parlay.

LEG 2: LUIS CASTILLO (SEA) UNDER 2.5 EARNED RUNS

Our second leg of the Parlay: Luis Castillo UNDER 2.5 Earned Runs. Yesterday, the Angels got to Logan Gilbert, putting up five runs…however, only one of them was an Earned Run. I’m down for the same thing today. After a rough start to the year for Castillo, he’s been very solid.

Castillo has allowed two or fewer ER in 13 of his last 18 starts, including two of his last three. He’s already faced the Angels twice, which can be scary, but he’s cooked them: 6 Innings, 0 Earned Runs earlier in July, 7 Innings, 0 ER in early June. I like him to keep things dialed in today in an early afternoon start in Seattle. The Angels have been a bottom-10 offense vs. RHP in the last two weeks. Let’s hope they continue that.
