On paper, the Tigers have the starting pitching advantage in this game. If Flaherty was going to pitch better than Tanner Bibee, then why is Bibee’s fantasy score on DFS apps more than three points higher? Both starting pitchers have the same exact odds on their earned runs props as well. Although it might look like the Tigers have the pitching advantage at first glance, oddsmakers seem to think Bibee will be the better starter on Wednesday…
Tanner Bibee has struggled at times this summer, but he seemed to have put it all together in his last outing against the Padres. Bibee held San Diego scoreless at home in his last start, an impressive performance. I like his chances of following up that recent gem with another solid outing. The Tigers struggle against right-handed pitching, and with the total as low as it is, I feel confident in backing Bibee at home in this spot.
The Tigers have won seven of their last ten games. At some point, this team is going to regress back to its typical struggling ways. A matchup against one of the best home teams in baseball could be the beginning of their downfall. The Guardians have one of the best home records in baseball. They are currently 32-14 at home this season. I like their chances against Flaherty and the Tigers in the third game of this series.
The money in this game is relatively split, but the Guardians continue to catch steam as we approach first pitch. Lock-in the Guardians on the moneyline before the odds get any worse. The fact that Cleveland is laying this much juice against a “better” starting pitcher in Flaherty is a great sign for Guardians backers.
