We are heading back to the diamond here for this Tuesday night slate, and we need to get something going. It's been a rough kick out of the All-Star break after a really hot first half of the season, but hey this is a long game, and the MLB season is the longest of them all. We've got to stick with it, and tonight I have a two-legger that I think can get us right back on track.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
This is the third game in the last 36 hours for these two squads, but it's taking more of a toll on the Jays. Toronto had to go to the pen in game one of yesterday's double header with four arms going for 6 1/3 innings in the first game, and an additional 3 1/3 in game two. The bullpen is spent and is now facing an Orioles team that has their bats back again. Corbin Burnes has the ball for the O's, and the O's ace is set for another strong outing. Burnes is 10-4 with a 2.46 ERA on the season, and has had success in the past over Toronto. In 35 at-bats, he has held them to a .200/.277/.355 slash line, and he throws the ball better at home.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Houston Astros Prediction
The Pirates were able to take game one in Houston last night thanks to a 100 pitch outing from their ace Paul Skenes, but with Bailey Falter on the mound tonight, I do not expect the Astros to struggle to score. Houston was 10 games under .500 at one point this season, they are now just a win away from overtaking the Mariners for first place in the AL West. I do not expect them to take their foot off the gas now, not against the Pirates. Hunter Brown has been fine this season, and should be successful here with run support.
