Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, our five day winning streak ended. No better time than today to start a new streak!
WEDNESDAY'S MLB PARLAY
LEG 1: Orioles and Blue Jays Both Teams to Score 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings
Our first leg of the Parlay: Both Teams to Score 1+ runs in the First 5 Innings of the Orioles and Blue Jays Game. Yesterday, if you took this same bet, you got cooked as neither team scored in the First 5 Innings. Today, don't worry. That's not happening.
Trevor Rogers starts for the Orioles. Rogers has been a fade all year with his near 5 ERA and his 1.55 WHIP. He has started 22 games. In only one of those 22 did he allow zero earned runs. The Blue Jays have been a great offense against Lefties recently. I trust they can get us one. Bowden Francis is expected to start for the Blue Jays. Francis and his 5.64 ERA & 1.46 WHIP show lots of weakness. He's typically a bullpen arm, but they've had him start a few games, including last week vs. the Orioles, where he allowed 3 ER. The Orioles have crushed RHP prior to Bassitt yesterday. They will score at least one off Francis, guaranteed.
LEG 2: Mets and Rockies Both Teams to Score 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings
Our second leg of the Parlay: Both Teams to Score 1+ runs in the First 5 Innings of the Mets and Rockies Game. We head to Coors Field for this leg. In order for this leg of the parlay to cash, we just need each team to have a run on the board by the end of the 5th inning.
The Mets face off against Ryan Feltner today. At home, Feltner has a 6.14 ERA and he already faced the Mets earlier in July. Feltner gave up four runs in only 3.2 innings in July when these teams met. The Mets should do their job and the Rockies will need to get at least one up on Paul Blackburn. This is Blackburn’s second career start in Coors Field. In 2023, he gave up nine hits in six innings pitched. Blackburn has a 6.39 ERA on the road and we have to trust the Rockies to bring the bats today.
