Simply backing the better squad in game one of an important divisional series tonight. The NL Central remains one of the tightest and closest divisions with all four teams trailing the Brewers within 11 games of first place. All three teams trailing the Cardinals are also within four games of the number two spot in the division. The NL Wild Card position in the NL Central is currently held by the Cardinals, but without question up for grabs. On the flip side of this, a good week or two and the Birds can be pushing the Brewers for the division title, If not, they can at least secure their wild card spot.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction
Sonny Gray has the ball for St. Louis tonight, and while he has had a bumpy few starts, the last two times out have been solid and he is still the ace in this Cardinals rotation. On 37 at-bats against these Reds hitters, Gray has held them to a .216/.283/.342 slash line with a 15/3 K/BB ratio and has allowed just eight hits. On the flip side, Andrew Abbott has really struggled lately, and these Cardinals hitters have a .949 OPS against him with an 7/11 K/BB ratio with a home run allowed roughly once every 12 at-bats. The Cardinals had the day off yesterday so no travel worries here, and the bats have been heating up heading to a hitters ball park. I think this is a very important series in the divisional race and if the Birds want to be there in the postseason, they need to start grabbing these divisional series' by the reigns.
