Although Pablo Lopez has only struck out 17.3% of batters over the last 30 days, he's still struck out 25.7% of batters this season.
Beyond that, Lopez has held his last 127 batters to a .103 ISO and wOBA of .287 and has induced more than 53% of ground balls over the previous 30 days.
He's pitching really well but just hasn't seen an uptick in strikeouts recently. However, I think that changes today.
Lopez is in line to face a Tampa Bay Rays projected lineup that has struck out 24.6% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. In the lineup, six batters have struck out at least 24.6% of the time against righties in the last month.

The Athletics will send Joey Estes to pitch against the Mariners tonight. Estes is a right-handed pitcher who has held his last 116 batters to 1.7% walks and a wOBA of .278. More importantly, he's struck out 24.1% of lefties over the last 30 days.
That's big news since the Mariners should have more lefties than righties in the lineup today. The projected five lefties in the order have also combined to strike out 24.9% of the time against righties in the last 30 days.
