After years of disappointment, Jo Adell is turning things around. He has a 13-game hitting streak in which he’s batting .340 with five home runs and 12 RBIs. Riley Greene was named a starter for the American League in the All-Star Game. The Tigers outfielder is slashing .296/.346/.552 with 49 runs, 21 doubles, 21 home runs, 69 RBIs and an .898 OPS. Greene is in the 98th percentile of barrel rate.
Over the last month, Greene has been on fire. He is batting .354 with eight home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .677 slugging percentage. He has four home runs in the last three games. Anytime Greene is facing a right-handed pitcher, his props need to be looked at. Greene is batting .322 with 20 home runs, 51 RBIs, a 1.011 OPS and .326 ISO in 230 at-bats against righties.
Greene will face Nationals right-hander Jake Irvin. The surface stats looked for Irvin at a few points this year, but the underlying numbers showed it wasn’t going to last. Irvin had a 3.42 ERA on May 24th and after allowing eight earned runs over 4.1 innings in his last start, the ERA is 4.73.
Irvin has allowed eight home runs over his last four starts. He is in the eighth percentile of hard hit rate at 47.6% and second percentile of barrel rate. Irvin has a 4.73 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 16.8% strikeout rate and 7.1% walk rate. He has allowed 1.82 HR/9 to left-handed hitters.

Jo Adell was a highly regarded prospect taken as the 10th overall pick in 2017. Year after year he was a disappointment. The Angels outfielder is having his best season and improving each month. Adell is slashing .243/.317/.494 with 34 runs, 18 home runs, 46 RBIs and an .811 OPS in 251 at-bats.
Adell had 11 home runs with a .293 average and 1.038 OPS in June. Adell had a career-high 20 home runs last season and is two away from tying it. Adell has a 13-game hitting streak and has gone over this prop in 12 of the last 13 games.
Adell has hit 14 home runs against right-handers and will face one in Bryce Elder. He has a 5.82 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 19% strikeout rate and eight percent walk rate. He has a 1.85 HR/9, and allowed nine of his 14 home runs with an .886 against right-handers.
Over his last three starts spanning 10.2 innings, Elder has allowed 25 hits, 18 earned runs, five home runs, eight walks and eight strikeouts.
