Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs Prediction

Dallas enters this year feeling as if they have an opportunity to make some noise in the West.

The Mavericks did not reach the playoffs a season ago, and were the one of the most disappointing teams in basketball.

Slovenian-born superstar, Luka Doncic, leads this Dallas roster.

Doncic was not the guy to blame for the team's struggles a season ago, as he averaged 32.4 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, and 8.0 assists per game.

The Mavericks went out and added star Kyrie Irving at the deadline last year.

Irving averaged 27.0 points per game a season ago, paired with 6.0 assists.

The biggest off-season addition for the Mavs was forward Grant Williams.

San Antonio was one of the worst teams in the NBA a season ago, 22-60.

That was tied for the worst record in the West with the Portland Trailblazers.

The Spurs will not complain about the bad year because it got them one of the best prospects of all time.

The Spurs won the lottery and drafted French superstar Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama is the most hyped-up rookie since Lebron James.

Wemby stands 7" 4 and has the handles of a point guard. He enters the season as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.

Keldon Johnson led the team in scoring a season ago, averaging a career-high 22.0 points per game.

Shooting guard Devin Vassell also delivered a strong season, averaging 18.5 points per game.

Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs Pick

I fully expect this line to jump as the day goes on.

Dallas is undervalued in this spot, as they are a much better team.

Wembanyama will go on to have a great career, but for now, the Spurs remain one of the worst teams in basketball.

Dallas matches up well and will do enough to cover this number tonight.
