There are three teams in tonight's slate that I will be betting on separately. I believe all three of these teams will cover the spread tonight in matchups that favor them. I personally believe all three of these games will be competitive, although some teams are going to be playing without key players due to injuries and suspensions.
October 30 Best NBA Spread Picks
1. Utah Jazz +8.5
The Jazz were 21-9 against the spread as away underdogs last year. The Jazz have not been great this season and the Nuggets have not lost yet. However, the Nuggets played last night and will be on a back to back tonight. They also beat the Memphis Grizzlies by four points without Ja Morant earlier this season, so they are definitely viable to cover tonight, but I believe the Jazz have the talent to cover this spread versus the reigning champions tonight.
2. Memphis Grizzlies +2
Going to be taking Memphis +2 at home tonight. Despite Ja Morant's suspension, the Grizzlies have been playing close in each of their games this year, even though they ultimately ended up losing. They return home hungry for their first win against a Dallas team that won on a one-handed Luka shot last game. This is probably a unpopular pick here, but I think the Grizzlies have the roster talent even without Morant to get their first win tonight versus this Mavericks team.
3. Brooklyn Nets -1
The Nets will be without Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton once again on Monday night. Claxton's absence will be felt in the paint, so expect Mark Williams to land 10+ rebounds in tonight's game. The Nets will need to take a team rebounding approach to make up for the production loss of Nic Claxton. The Nets have no issues scoring the basketball this season with Cam Thomas starting the year on an absolute tear, the Hornets will need to game plan to stop him tonight. Expect other options to open up and the Nets to score with ease and pull ahead early in this one.
