They take on a Pistons team that has not looked good this season but is hungry. These two teams take up two of the lowest three spots in the eastern conference, with the Pistons sitting at a conference-worst 4–39, while the Hornets are not far ahead at 10–31. what is the best bet in this game between these two struggling teams?

The big news recently for the Charlotte Hornets was trading away Terry Rozier. Rozier was a talented guard for the Hornets that left a space for some of the younger stars to shine, like Brandon Miller and Nick Smith Jr. Tonight, I am focused on Brandon Miller. Brandon Miller was the second overall pick in the 2023 draft for the Charlotte Hornets out of Alabama. Miller was off to a slow start in November, but his scoring has slowly started to tick up, and with Rozier gone to Miami, Miller should get even more playing time and scoring opportunities. With Kyle Lowry coming over from Miami in the trade, this should not take away from Brandon Miller at all, as Kyle Lowry is more of a playmaker and less of an elite scorer. When Rozier left, he was second on the team with 23.2 points per game, while he also attempted the second most field goals on the team per game. That hole leaves more usage and scoring attempts for Miller. Brandon Miller has been very hot over his last three games. He has scored 24, 23, and 27 points over his last three games respectively. His points + rebounds + assists line for tonight is 23.5. Miller has a good matchup here against a Detroit Pistons team that ranks second-worst in defensive rating and sixth in pace of play. Additionally, the Pistons give up the fifth-most points to shooting guards per game with 23.7. Miller has been nearly hitting this combo stats line just on points alone over his last few games, but he has also been averaging 4.5 rebounds and two assists per game in January. While LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges will probably still be the leading scorers for the Hornets, Brandon Miller has a nice role spot on this team with Rozier gone and Kyle Lowry not suiting up yet. I think this line is still too low on Brandon Miller, given this opportunity against a poor defense. Back him to go over 23.5 points + rebounds + assists tonight.
