Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction
The player I am targeting in tonight‘s game is Josh Green. Green is in his fourth year in the NBA and has spent all four years in Dallas. This year, his role is starting to increase a bit, as he has started 28 of the 45 games he’s played overall. He is averaging a career-high 27.4 minutes per game while scoring 9.1 points while averaging 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as well.
Josh Green's points line is set at 8.5 tonight, which feels a bit low given his recent usage. While Green started the year on the bench, he has averaged more minutes since starting recently. As a starter this season, he is averaging 30.6 minutes per game while averaging 10.5 points compared to his 9.1 overall in the season. When he comes in off the bench, he is averaging averaging just 22.7 minutes per game and 6.8 points. Green has seen an increase in usage over just the last 10 games as well. Over his last ten contests, Green is averaging 29.5 minutes while scoring 12.4 points. He has even hit 20 points a few times earlier in February. His floor has risen to the point where 8.5 points feels very low and is a line I would’ve expected to see him at earlier in the season.
The Raptors have been playing bad defense and rank 27th in the NBA in defensive rating over the last 15 games. The Raptors have also struggled against small forwards, as they give up the most points to the position per game at 24.14. While Josh Green is listed and entered the NBA as a guard, he has been filling in at the small forward role for the Mavericks and has been starting there for them. With Green seeing his highest volume in his career lately, I like him to clear this points prop for the eighth time in the past 11 games in February tonight.
