Los Angeles Lakers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prop Pick: Can D'Angelo Russell Get Hot From Deep Against Bucks?

The Los Angeles Lakers will visit the Milwaukee Bucks with playoff seeding on the line. Can D'Angelo Russell find a way to lift the Lakers with the deep ball in the absence of LeBron James? Ben Rajavuori explains his absence and provides his top prop pick to benefit in Lakers vs. Bucks.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prop Pick: Can D'Angelo Russell Get Hot From Deep Against Bucks?

The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Milwaukee tonight to take on the Bucks. The Bucks have won back-to-back games and are in second place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 46–25. They will not be able to catch up to the Celtics, but they have to keep winning games to stay ahead of the Cavaliers, who are right behind them in third. Meanwhile, the Lakers have won three games in a row, and are in ninth place in the western conference, barely hanging onto a spot at the end of the season in the play-in tournament. It is not out of the question for the Lakers to climb out of a play-in spot if they were able to catch the Kings, who are in sixth place. What should we expect in this game tonight?

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction

The biggest storyline of this game is that LeBron will not be playing tonight with an ankle injury. Obviously, this is a big hit for the Lakers, but we can capitalize by targeting another player. The player I’m looking at in this game is point guard D’Angelo Russell. Russell stands to benefit from LeBron being out given that James can sometimes take over as point guard even though he’s not listed at the position. He often brings it up the court and likes to run the offense from the point. With him missing tonight‘s game, D’Angelo Russell should be pretty cemented as the one bringing the ball of the court and running the offense. With him holding onto the ball for even longer, I like him to find some more looks from deep, as he has been firing from three lately. Russell has attempted 10+ three-pointers in three straight games, and has been averaging 8.33 point attempts per game in March. His line tonight is set at 3.5 three-pointers with plus money on the over. I love Russell to hit this line, especially with LeBron out tonight. D’Angelo Russell has hit 4+ threes in four of his last six games without LeBron. This should also be a very fast paced game, as the Lakers rank fourth in the NBA in pace of play and the Bucks rank sixth. Additionally, the Bucks are allowing the third-most points per game to point guards, and Russell gets a lot of his points from behind the arc. This matchup is set to favor Russell, and LeBron missing this game only makes me love his three-point prop more.
