The Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks square off from Chase Center in California to cap off the night on TNT in prime time. The Mavericks are red-hot right now, winning nine of their last 10 games, which puts them in fifth place in the Western Conference. Their playoff hopes are looking very good right now, as they are almost certainly going to make the playoffs.
The same cannot be said for the Warriors, however, as they sit at 40–34 in the Western Conference, good for 10th place. While they are still holding onto the last play-in spot, the Rockets are not far behind them, and could easily steal the spot from them if the Warriors do not close out the season strong. With that said, this is a massive game for the Warriors tonight. What should we expect?

The player I’m targeting in this game is Stephen Curry. In a massive game for the Warriors as we come down the last stretch this season, of course we are backing one of the best shooters of all time in a big game for the Warriors. Steph actually had a pretty slow March for his standard. He averaged just 22.4 points per game, which brought his season average down to 26.6 points per game. His threes were also down severely at just 4.2 makes per game, which was down from 5.6 in February. He shot 36% from three in March, which was his worst month of the season from the perimeter. For a career 42% shooter from three, March was definitely a down month for the future Hall of Famer. I am backing Curry to bounce back from three tonight. Before going 7–15 from three against the Spurs last game, Curry had gone under 4.5 threes in seven of his last 10 games. This is very atypical for a player like Curry, who shoots threes at such a high clip. This is a great matchup for him to get back on track, as the Mavericks are below league-average in three-point defense, and also play at a very fast pace. The Mavericks rank ninth in pace of play over the last 15 games and the Warriors rank 10th, implying we should get a high-flying game tonight. In the only game Curry played against against the Mavericks this season, he shot 6–15 from three. We just need five tonight. This feels very doable in a game that Curry should be shooting a lot from deep given the implications of this game.
