The Detroit Pistons travel to Memphis tonight to take on the Grizzlies from the FedEx Forum in Tennessee. Neither team is looking at playoff aspirations at the end of the season, but that does not mean this game is meaningless, as both teams are playing young guys in this game while looking ahead to the future. The Grizzlies enter with a 26–50 record, which is good for 13th place in the Western Conference. The Pistons enter this game with a 13–63 record, which is good for last place in the Eastern Conference. what should we expect in this game between young teams?

If you are a Grizzlies fan, look away from their injury report tonight. As if it wasn’t enough that Ja Morant was out for the season, almost every single starter is injured tonight. Desmond Bane is out again tonight after coming back briefly from his back injury. Vince Williams, Santi Aldama, Jaren Jackson Jr, John Konchar, and Brandon Clarke are also all out. Luke Kennard is also doubtful. Scotty Pippen Jr is still playing limited minutes as he recovers from an injury as well. There’s not a single fully healthy starter left on this team, and now even a few of their best bench players are injured as well. It truly is a worst-case scenario for the Grizzlies, as they will be throwing a G-league lineup out tonight against the Pistons. On the piston side, their injury report is much smaller. Although a significant injury, Cade Cunningham has been on and off the injury report but will be out tonight against the Grizzlies. The Pistons have played without him a lot recently, though, and Marcus Sasser has done very well in the backup role, and Malachi Flynn just dropped 50 points against the Hawks on Wednesday. this Pistons team is young and hungry and has some pretty good scorers like Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren.
These teams just played back on Monday, with the Grizzlies winning 110–108 in Detroit. However, the Grizzlies had a lot more players healthy in that game, with Jaren Jackson Jr being the standout player in that game with 40 points. Santi Aldama and Luke Kennard also played in that game. Neither will be playing tonight. Although the Pistons are on the road here and have the worst record in the NBA, I think the line is telling us a lot here with the Pistons being a very slight underdog. This game is basically a pick 'em, and a team with only 13 wins on the season playing on the road as just a pick 'em is a line that is very telling.
