Watching Garland’s points prop get bumped up throughout the day is making me think he’s about to overcome his previous struggles and carry the Cavs offense tonight. Remember when the Heat caught the Celtics sleeping in Game 2 after a comfortable Game 1 win? I wouldn’t be shocked if Garland keeps the Cavs in this game until the final whistle…
The volume has been there, and until the Celtics see it first-hand, they aren’t going to make any major adjustments after a massive game one victory. Garland shot eight threes in the first game against the Celtics on Tuesday. If he didn’t shoot 25% from deep, he would have soared over his points prop last game. We’ve seen him struggle from deep, but it’s only a matter of time before Garland finds his touch.
With Jarrett Allen potentially out for another game, this team lacks a second scorer now outside of Donovan Mitchell. The Cavs have no choice but to let Garland continue to chuck shots; he will have plenty of opportunities to soar over his points prop once again tonight. With the total on the rise, I feel good about points being scored in this game. I’m banking on Cleveland staying competitive in Game 2, much like Miami when they shot the lights out in their Game 2 win last series.

With Jrue Holiday helping on Donovan Mitchell, expect Garland to find himself just as open, if not more open than the first game.
