The Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets meet for Game 3 of the second round of the NBA playoffs as they head to Minnesota for Game 3 from the Target Center. The Timberwolves have stormed out to a 2–0 lead in this series while holding the Nuggets under 100 points in both games. The Nuggets only scored 80 points in Game 2 and we’re completely shut down by the Minnesota defense. What can they change in this series to bounce back offensively and show some life?

DENVER NUGGETS VS. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES GAME 3 PREDICTION
It may sound weird, but Michael Porter Jr. has to get going in game three early. The Timberwolves will continue to effectively shut down Jamal Murray at the point as they have against him in this series so far. On top of that, Murray isn’t 100% in this game to begin with. Nikola Jokic has done okay but will stand against the defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert.
Michael Porter Jr. is a sharp shooting three-point shooter when he is on his game, as he averaged four threes per game against the Lakers on 48.8% shooting from deep. He has to get going from three for the Nuggets to bounce back offensively.
Michael Porter Jr. shot 37% from three this season on 6.8 attempts per game. He has led the Nuggets in the postseason with 7.9 three-point attempts per game. He is averaging 45.5% from three in the playoff so far and will have to get up a lot of attempts tonight with the Nuggets dealing with some injuries. I already mentioned Jamal Murray dealing with a calf injury, but Reggie Jackson and Kentavious Caldwell Pope are both banged up as well. With the guards getting shut down by Minnesota’s elite perimeter defense, Michael Porter Jr. and his size will be the best look from deep for the Nuggets as the series progresses.
Porter came out hot in the series shooting 4–7 from three in Game 1. Although he shot just 1-7 from three in Game 2, the attempts were still there and to be fair, the entire Nuggets team was ice-cold all game too. I expect a big bounce back from Michael Porter Jr. in a game. the Nuggets absolutely have to win tonight. The shooters will be taking shots, and Porter has led the Nuggets in three-point attempts this postseason, so I expect him to get a lot of looks tonight. Porter will hit over 2.5 threes tonight.
