Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Thunder

Pacers vs. Thunder Same-Game Parlay: Can Pacers Slow Down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC in NBA Finals Game 1?

The Indiana Pacers will visit OKC to battle the Thunder in Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals tonight. Can they limit Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the explosive Thunder offense in the opening matchup? Jason Radowitz delivers his Pacers vs. Thunder same-game parlay for NBA Finals Game 1 on Thursday, June 5th.

Pacers vs. Thunder Same-Game Parlay: Can Pacers Slow Down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC in NBA Finals Game 1?

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012. It more than likely won't be the last time. Since the Thunder have an excellent core of talent. The core includes this year's Most Valuable Player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Thunder have a really exciting trio with SGA, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams. Those three have given the Thunder lots of hope for years to come. But if they really want to make a statement, they'll have to win the NBA Finals this year, especially as heavy favorites against the Indiana Pacers.

It won't be an easy task. While the Thunder were the Western Conference's best team, they'll have to play a super-talented Pacers club.

The Pacers aren't nearly as well-balanced, but if the Thunder continue to take poor shots, the Pacers will likely stay competitive in this series.

That said, I've constructed a same-game parlay for tonight's NBA Finals Game 1 matchup between the Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder.

Pacers vs. Thunder Game 1 Same-Game Parlay

Leg 1: Pacers +9.5 (-108)

The Indiana Pacers aren't necessarily a top defense. But the Thunder have only shot a 53.5% effective field goal percentage in the playoffs.

That current number ranks 9th in the NBA Playoffs heading into the NBA Finals. The Thunder have only scored 117.8 points per 100 possessions in the playoffs due to their low turnover rate. Oklahoma City hasn't grabbed a ton of offensive rebounds and likely won't see the foul line any more than the Pacers in this game or series.

If the Thunder misses some shots, the Pacers will capitalize on quick outlets and easy baskets. That'll keep them in the game.

That said, don't expect the Pacers to put up a ton of points, either. At the end of the day, the Thunder rank first in the NBA playoffs, allowing only 106.2 points per 100 possessions. When the Thunder can match up and slow down the Pacers in the halfcourt, they'll get plenty of stops in this game.

Leg 2: Under 230.5 (-114)

The Thunder have limited teams in the playoffs to a 50.2% effective field goal percentage. They've also gained 18% of turnovers. It's unlikely the Thunder finish this series with 18% of turnovers against the Pacers. Typically, behind Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers don't make many boneheaded mistakes. But I still expect both teams to struggle from the floor.

The Thunder won't give easy looks in the halfcourt, and the Thunder haven't shot the ball well throughout the playoffs, holding an effective field goal percentage of only 53.5%.

Plus, neither team is very effective on the offensive glass, and both teams are just average at getting to the foul line.

Leg 3: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 33.5 (-120)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander closed out the Minnesota Timberwolves with back-to-back games of 34 points or more. However, he's added at least 34 points in just 37% of games this season. He's also hit this line in only 43% of his last seven head-to-head games against the Pacers.

Additionally, over the last ten games in the playoffs, he has averaged 29.8 points per game. He hasn't even reached 30 points per game during the previous 10 games.

It's hard to ask for 34 points from SGA, with the expectation that the game will go under the total and the Pacers will cover.

Pacers vs. Thunder Same-Game Parlay (+421) (Bet $100 to Collect $521)

  • Leg 1: Pacers +9.5 (-108)
  • Leg 2: Under 230.5 (-114)
  • Leg 3: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 33.5 (-120)
