Purdue might be 15-2, but it hasn’t been all “sunshine and rainbows” for the Boilermakers, especially on the road. Both of Purdue’s losses have come on the road, including an 88-72 loss at Nebraska in their last road game. On Tuesday night, Zach Edey and the Boilermakers travel to one of the toughest road venues in the country: Assembly Hall. Will Purdue get back on track with a double digit win, or will Indiana keep this game close?

I’m willing to bet the Hoosiers do what they always do, and that’s cover at home. This team just ended Minnesota’s legacy start to the season with a 12-point win on Friday. They might not have TJD or JHS anymore, who are both now in the NBA, but Indiana is 9-1 at home this season. They rarely lose at Assembly Hall…
I’m not saying the Hoosiers are going to win this game outright, but they do have the size and home-court advantage to keep this game close. Kel’el Ware is no Trayce Jackson-Davis, but the sophomore stands at 7’0” and has done a great job replacing Indiana’s star down low. Ware, Reneau and Mgbako have the size to not only limit Edey tonight, but take him out of this game completely.
Purdue simply hasn’t been the same dominant team away from home as they are in their own arena. Tonight they have to play their in-state rival on the road, a team that has beaten the Boilermakers OUTRIGHT three of the last four times they’ve played. Coming off some massive home wins against Ohio State and Minnesota, the Hoosiers will have all the confidence in the world that they can take down Zach Edey after watching Nebraska do it last week.
This spread does seem large for a team everyone knows struggles on the road coming off a road-loss to Nebraska, but I simply can’t resist. Back the Hoosiers on the spread at Assembly Hall tonight; I’ll meet you at the cash counter.
