There are so many great college basketball matchups on Thursday. Instead of giving you a full breakdown of one play, why don’t we just go over some of my favorite plays. Here’s what I’m locking in for tonight…

Marshall vs. Old Dominion Prediction
It hasn’t been the season anyone expected for the Old Dominion Monarchs. Some were calling them the darkhorse of the Sun Belt, but they’ve now lost six straight games. Is it getting any better for the Monarchs in the near future?
I’m willing to bet the Monarchs shock the world and upset the Marshall Thundering Herd, although it wouldn’t be an upset on the sportsbooks. ODU has flipped from an underdog to a favorite in the midst of their six-game losing streak, an interesting line shift against a highly-regarded Marshall program.
Marshall just lost to a South Alabama team as 4.5 point favorites. They are missing their two star guards from last season (Kinsey and Taylor) greatly. ODU plays a similar style to South Alabama, the team that just beat Marshall in their last game. Back ODU on the moneyline to break their losing streak at home.

Illinois vs. Michigan Prediction
Let’s be honest, this Illinois team isn’t the same without Terrence Shannon Jr. in the backcourt. Coming off a loss to Maryland as nine-point favorites, the Fighting Illini are crumbling after a 11-2 start to the season.
Michigan has been a major disappoint this season, and there’s been plenty of drama along the way, but they are coming off a big win against Ohio State. Dug McDaniel is still allowed to play in home games, and that’s huge, because he’s the best player on the court between either of these teams.
I’m willing to bet the Wolverines ride the momentum from their recent win and cover for only the seventh time this season. These are two teams trending in different directions, and I’m willing to buy low on Michigan with McDaniel active tonight.

Washington vs. California Prediction
You’re telling me the California Bears are the betting favorite against a 10-7 Washington team? Sign me up for the Bears on the moneyline in this spot; although they haven’t shown it on a consistent basis, this Cal team is just as talented as the Huskies.
Washington is still riding their high from their 82-67 route of the Sun Devils last week. They didn’t show up on the road against UCLA after that big win, and they aren’t going to show up at the Haas Pavilion tonight against this inconsistent Bears team.
Cal hasn’t beaten Washington in years, which is why seeing them as the betting favorite tonight makes them one of the weirdest lines of the week. Fade the Huskies and back Cal at home; the line says it all in this matchup.
