VCU is taking on Saint Joseph's today in what should be a competitive game. Saint Joe's will be on the road for this one and VCU has a hostile environment which could make it hard on them to cover the spread versus the home team. I will be taking Max Shulga and VCU to cover the spread at home and the description below will explain why.

Saint Joe's vs. VCU Prediction
After starting 10-3 prior to conference play with a win over Villanova and an overtime loss to Kentucky, Saint Joe's has fallen to 17-10. VCU is coming off of a loss on the road to UMass and will be looking to bounce back at home in order to keep some cushion on the fourth spot in the A10 to secure the final full bye.
Saint Joe's like to play outside of the arc where they rank fifth in the nation in percentage of points from three, and sixth most in the same category on the defensive side. Due to this, they don't shoot a ton of free throws, but overall are a good shooting team ranking above average from the field. Like many other teams this season, they have struggled on the road posted a 3-7 record. Additionally, they are only 2-8 against the spread in their last ten games.
VCU, like Saint Joes, loves to shoot the three ball where they rank 43rd in attempts per game. However, unlike Saint Joe's, VCU does an exceptional job defending the three ball, allowing only 29.1% on the year. The Rams also play at a slow tempo, having one of the longest average possession lengths on defense, where they do a great overall job defending with the sixth best effective field goal percentage on defense. Contrary to Saint Joes, VCU has also ben great against the spread, going 8-2 in their last ten. I believe VCU will cover the spread today and cash this for us.
