What a postseason run it’s been for Nate Oates and the Tide. They’ve now made the Sweet 16 in three of the last four seasons, an incredible accomplishment. Alabama will have their hands full against the red-hot Tar Heels on Thursday night. Will UNC continue their legacy run after missing the tournament last season, or will Mark Sears and the Tide shock the world, advancing to the Elite Eight?

I’ve been fading this UNC team all year. Even in the first couple rounds of the NCAA Tournament I was fading the Tar Heels. I found zero success fading this team throughout the year, so I’m switching my stance and I’m backing UNC on Thursday. Something just doesn’t feel right about this Alabama spread tonight…
I was surprised to see so many Alabama bettors today. They seem like the trendy underdog of this slate. It makes sense; Mark Sears has been carrying the Tide and he looks like one of the best players in the tournament. Will Sears be enough to pull off the upset against the Tar Heels?
I’m willing to bet that Bacot and Ingram down low will be too much for the Tide to handle. They don’t have a true center down low, and with UNC’s veteran frontcourt, I don’t see how they slow them down on the interior. Ingram especially has a great matchup tonight. Expect him to carry the Tar Heels offensively against this poor Alabama defense.
Everyone thinks it’s going to be the RJ Davis versus Mark Sears show tonight. Personally, I think these two stars cancel each-other out. It’s going to be the Tar Heels veteran bigs who dominate this matchup. Grant Nelson doesn’t have the strength to limit either Bacot or Ingram down low. Fade Alabama and one of the most public underdogs of the tournament, and back the Tar Heels to cover the spread. North Carolina is starting to feel like a team of destiny this season…
