Two of the most popular women’s college basketball teams play tonight in the Elite Eight with the chance to go to the Final Four in Cleveland and potentially play for the championship. The eyes will all be on star players Caitlin Clark for Iowa and Angel Reese of LSU. The only shame about this game is that it is not for the championship once again.

LSU vs. Iowa Prediction
The last time these two teams met was in the championship of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. LSU bested Iowa in that game 102–85. However, LSU no longer has their top three scorers from that game, as LaDazhia Williams, Jasmine Carson, and Alexis Morris are all gone. While they have replaced them with talented players, it is thought that last year‘s team may have been a bit stronger. Additionally, Alexis Morris had the job of covering Caitlin Clark last year and did a pretty good job of forcing her to take contested looks. Clark still had 30 points, but she shot just 9–22 from the field. 19 of those were from three. Clark has addressed potentially taking too many outside looks in that game from last year, and has said that she needs to drive to the paint more in this game ahead of the rematch. The thing that makes the LSU Tigers so hard to stop is that they have six players averaging double digits every game. While Angel Reese leads them with 18.7 points per game, the team does not have to rely on her scoring, which makes them dangerous offensively. For Iowa, Caitlin Clark obviously is the standout leading score with 31.7 points per game, but Hannah Stuelke and Kate Martin add 14 and 12.8 points per game, respectively. Clark has also become a much better passer this year, and is averaging nine assists per game. She had 15 assists in the Sweet 16 last round. With a chance to go to the Final Four on the line, I like Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes to advance to the next round and get revenge for their loss last year. LSU may have the more balanced offense, but the explosiveness and creativity of Caitlin Clark’s game will be hard to shut down, and I like the Hawkeyes a bit more defensively. Back the Hawkeyes to get revenge from last year‘s championship loss and advance.
