Ole Miss has authored one of the most surprising runs in the SEC Tournament, winning three games in three days against Texas, Georgia, and Alabama just to reach this stage. Ole Miss Rebels vs Arkansas Razorbacks Prediction
Arkansas enters the semifinal at 24-8 overall and has been one of the most complete teams in the conference all season. The Razorbacks average 90 points per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from three point range. That level of offensive efficiency becomes especially dangerous in a tournament setting when opponents are dealing with fatigue.
The engine of the Razorbacks offense is Darius Acuff Jr., who has emerged as one of the most electric players in college basketball. The freshman guard is a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award and is currently ninth in the nation in scoring with 22.7 points per game while also averaging 6.4 assists. He has scored at least 20 points in 15 of his last 20 games and continues to elevate his play in big moments.
In Arkansas’s SEC Tournament opener, Acuff delivered a statement performance with 37 points, five rebounds, and five assists in an 82-79 win. Over his last 10 games he is averaging nearly 28 points per contest while shooting 48 percent from the field and 45 percent from three. When he is playing at that level, the Razorbacks offense becomes extremely difficult to slow down.
The Razorbacks also bring impressive balance around their star guard. Meleek Thomas provides another perimeter scoring threat at over 15 points per game, while Trevon Brazile contributes across the stat sheet with scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks. Billy Richmond III adds wing scoring, and Malique Ewin provides interior presence that keeps opposing defenses from focusing solely on the perimeter.
The first meeting between these teams earlier this season also favors Arkansas. The Razorbacks went to Oxford and won 94-87 in a game that showcased exactly how they want to attack this matchup. Arkansas pushed the pace, created scoring opportunities from multiple positions, and forced Ole Miss to try to keep up offensively.
That formula becomes even more difficult for Ole Miss under the current circumstances. The Rebels finished the regular season with just four conference wins and now must face one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC after playing three emotionally draining games in three days. Asking a team in that position to match Arkansas possession for possession for forty minutes is a tall order.
Ole Miss Rebels vs Arkansas Razorbacks Pick
- 2 Unit Pick: Arkansas -9 (-110) Check out these best odds at Caesars Sportsbook
Ole Miss has talented scorers like AJ Storr and Malik Dia who can produce offensively, but depth and fatigue become major factors in tournament settings. Against an Arkansas team that can score from multiple levels and maintain pressure throughout the game, those limitations are likely to show.
With Arkansas holding advantages in rest, offensive firepower, and roster depth, this matchup favors the Razorbacks pulling away as the game progresses.
