The Valkyries controlled the game with defense, held the Liberty to just 12 points in the third quarter, and nearly led wire to wire. The back-to-back is the obvious concern. Golden State emptied a lot into that Liberty win, and Indiana will have the rest and home-court edge. Burton’s two-way pressure, Williams’ versatility, and Golden State’s willingness to shoot threes give them a real path to hang around even if their legs fade late.
Indiana’s side depends on Clark’s health and rhythm. The Fever beat Portland 90-73 without her, with Kelsey Mitchell stepping up for 21 points, but the offense changes completely when Clark returns. If she is moving well, Indiana can stretch Golden State’s defense and create the type of third-quarter separation that covers this number.
