The Liberty visit the Sparks on Tuesday night in the first game following the WNBA All-Star break. New York enters as a 5.5-point road favorite with a 15-12 record, while Los Angeles is 10-16. The game will be shown regionally on WWOR and Spectrum SportsNet.
New York remains one of the league’s most talented teams behind Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones, but injuries and frequent lineup changes prevented the Liberty from building consistent chemistry during the first half. They entered the break with narrow wins over Dallas and Chicago, including a 95-94 comeback victory against the Sky, but those results continued a season-long pattern of struggling to create separation from inferior opponents.

Los Angeles has relied heavily on Kelsey Plum, who leads the roster with 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game. However, a lower-leg injury forced Plum to withdraw from the All-Star Game, making her availability and effectiveness the largest concern surrounding the home underdog. Nneka Ogwumike, Dearica Hamby, Rae Burrell and Cameron Brink still give the Sparks enough scoring and interior size to remain competitive, particularly at home.
The Sparks have already proven they can compete with New York this season.
