Enjoy this weekend's UFC event. Seriously. The quality of cards following this one is going to be rougher than Sam Alvey's last nine UFC fights. While the oddsmakers have made the main event nearly impossible to bet on, we still have a handful of underrated scraps filling the undercard out. Among these bangers, I have built a parlay that I think brings a ton of value.
UFC Fight Night Start Time and Where to Watch
- Date: Saturday, 13th May, 2023
- Game Time: prelim 11:00 am EST, main 3:00 pm EST
- Where to Watch: ESPN+
Leg 1: Natan Levy ML (-245)
There are very few fights of this caliber that I can call guaranteed bangers, but this is one of them. Pete Rodriguez fights like a bat out of hell, as he has never been past the first round in his MMA career with all of his fights ending by knockout. In the other corner is the Israeli warrior, Natan Levy. Levy is a very cerebral fighter and has taken very little damage in his UFC career. He will look to be a matador in this fight and dance around Rodriguez's first-round flurry. Levy also has a familiar ground game that he can lean on if he needs to. While +205 is an attractive line for a guy with five first-round KOs, I just cannot bring myself to bet on somebody whose best win is Mike Jackson. Furthermore, Natan Levy follows me on Twitter and thinks that I am funny, which nearly triples his odds of winning.
Leg 2: Alex Morono ML (-215)
Alex Morono may look like a default UFC 4 create-a-fighter, but he is for real. He was comfortably on his way to a decision win against Santiago Ponzinibbio before he was unfortunately TKO'd just two minutes away from victory. Despite this setback, he showed drastic improvements in this bout that were enough for me to pick him over Tim Means. Means is a junkyard dog with over 25 UFC fights. He is a true veteran of the fight game, but at nearly 40 years old, it would be irresponsible to bet on him. I would not be surprised if Means is prepared to call it quits on his storied 19-year career, with a loss on Saturday. When an athlete goes into a fight with retirement on their mind, things typically do not end well.
Leg 3: Ji Yeon Kim vs Mandy Bohm Over 1.5 Rounds (-750)
Reasoning: It is a women's MMA bout.
While none of these lines are necessarily attractive on their own, they do make for a tempting parlay that should be fun to sweat out. The prelims start at 8:30 AM on the west coast for some weird reason, so make sure to get this bet in while you make your breakfast. Do not take this fight card for granted, folks. We are about to enter some dull times.
