Houston Roughnecks vs Orlando Guardians Prediction

The XFL is back today, and I could not be more fired up. The bottom line is that football is on, and there is no reason for us not to throw some bets in today. The fun thing about this league is the fact that there are players all over the field who feel like they are getting a second chance. There are tons of former NFL players, including Vic Beasley Jr, who led the NFL in sacks back in 2016.

The matchup we will be looking at tonight will be the Orlando Guardians vs. the Houston Rougneckers. Former NFL cornerback Terrell Buckley coaches Orlando. The Guardians have a pair of quarterbacks that all college football fans will know. Deondre Francois is listed as the probable starter for tonight. He had some great years at Florida State, but things never worked out in the NFL. The second quarterback that Orlando features of former first-round pick Paxton Lynch. Lynch is a guy that many people thought would have a long NFL career but similar to Francois; things never worked out. Orlando also features a former first-round pick on the defensive side of the ball in the form of Matt Elam. Elam had multiple productive seasons in the NFL.

Houston, meanwhile, is coached by former NFL head coach Wade Phillips. Phillips brings a ton of experience into this one, and it will be fun to see how he handles this new challenge. Former Hawaii great Cole McDonald is one of the QBs for the Roughnecks. All college football fans have bet on McDonald multiple times at midnight. It will be fun to see how he operates in the XFL if he is given the opportunity. Fans also may remember running back Max Borghi, who had an excellent college career at Washington State.

I am backing the Roughnecks tonight on the money line. I have to back the home team to kick off the year. I love the makeup of this Houston roster, and I believe they will take care of business today. I want everyone to ride this bet and check out the XFL tonight. Let's get rich!
