The St. Louis Battlehawks and the Seattle Sea Dragons will clash on Thursday night for the first Thursday night XFL game of the season. I could not be more fired up for this game tonight for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that we just swept week one of the XFL season, and we are coming for more this weekend. The second reason is that Thursday night football is back. I promise that this game has the opportunity to be better than some of the Thursday night NFL games this season that involved the Indianapolis Colts.

Suppose you are new to this league; welcome. I would go in with the mindset of understanding the level of play is nowhere close to the NFL, but at the end of the day, we have football, and that is all that matters. Another cool thing about the XFL is the fact that they are very in tune with gambling on their broadcasts. They even leave up the spread and over-under on the scoreboard.

St. Louis Battlehawks and the Seattle Sea Dragons Prediction

The Battlehawks come into this game after one of the wildest football wins I have ever seen. St. Louis trailed by twelve points with less than two minutes, and they won the game by a field goal. There are some different rules in the XFL, one of which helped the Battlehawks win the game. In the XFL, you have an option to onside kick or go for 4th & 15 from your own twenty-five-yard line. The Battlehawks rolled the dice, and it ended up being a heck of a gamble.

Seattle, meanwhile, is coming off of a heartbreaking loss in a game in which starting quarterback Ben Dinuci fumbled the ball on the one-yard line with thirty seconds left in the game. A touchdown would have given Seattle the lead and likely sealed the game. Seattle will play their first home game of the season tonight and are currently three-point favorites. 

I am backing Seattle tonight. St Louis has the worst offensive line in the XFL, in my eyes, and Seattle should be able to keep a ton of pressure on AJ McCarron tonight. On the other side of the ball, I was impressed with the skill position players that the Sea Dragons have, including former NFL star Josh Gordon who is a matchup nightmare in this league.

I will be going with the moneyline tonight due to the odd rules that come with the XFL. If you want to take the spread, be my guest, but I will sip on some juice and go money line here. Let’s stay hot and improve to 4-0 in the XFL!
