Georgia vs. Florida Prediction, Pick, Odds: Is This a Trap Game for Carson Beck, Bulldogs?

No. 1 Georgia takes on unranked Florida in an SEC game this Saturday. Is this a trap game for Carson Beck and the Bulldogs? Jason Radowitz answers.

Georgia vs. Florida Prediction, Pick, Odds: Is This A Trap Game For The Bulldogs?

The SEC has some of the best conference rivalries in college sports.

Georgia-Florida is one of them.

The Florida Gators don't necessarily have a team that can compete with Georgia on paper. But when it comes to rivalries, anything can happen, especially with the Gators at home.

Georgia's the No. 1 team in the nation. But the Bulldogs haven't really played many challenging games this season. While Florida isn't intriguing on paper, a road game in Florida will be difficult regardless.

How difficult will it be?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday's SEC matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators.

Georgia vs. Florida Prediction

The Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators will have two weeks to prepare for this game. Both teams are coming off bye weeks last weekend and last played on October 14.

Georgia earned an underwhelming 37-20 win against Vanderbilt, while Florida escaped South Carolina with a 41-39 victory.

While Florida isn't ranked, they're still 5-2 and are one win away from bowl eligibility. The Gators have added 421.7 yards per game, thanks to Graham Mertz at quarterback. Mertz transferred in and has had his best season as a quarterback.

With Florida, he's thrown 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions with nearly 1,900 yards passing. The run game has also totaled 141.3 yards per game this year.

Florida's offense has been inconsistent. Against Georgia, it'll likely still be inconsistent. However, home-field advantage should at least help the Gators get some points. After all, Vanderbilt added 20 points against Georgia on their home field.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs have lost star tight end Brock Bowers for the rest of the regular season due to an injury. But the offense has averaged over 500 yards per game with Carson Beck under center.

Beck has thrown for 2,147 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. Meanwhile, Daijun Edwards has led the team with 460 yards on 80 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

The Bulldogs aren't dominating in the run game. But the passing game has achieved 337 yards per game. That pass block from the offensive line has been legitimate.

Conversely, Florida's pass rush is the best portion of its defense. But it won't be good against Georgia's offensive line. The Gators have held teams to 187.6 yards in the air and 124.9 yards on the ground. They're a good defense but likely won't get enough push against Florida.

Finally, Georgia's pass rush has been inconsistent this year. They've done great in coverage and have played well against the run. But if Mertz has time in the pocket, he'll make solid reads and sound decisions.

I'll take Florida at home against the spread.
