USC vs. California Prediction: Can Caleb Williams, Trojans Bounce Back Against Cal?

The USC Trojans stumble into a battle with the California Golden Bears after dropping two straight games. The preseason Heisman favorite has struggled, as Caleb Williams threw several interceptions in the losses. Can he bounce back and lead the Trojans to a victory over their in-state foe? Krabs breaks down this Pac-12 matchup on Saturday afternoon with his USC vs. Cal best bet.

USC vs. California Prediction: Can Caleb Williams, Trojans Bounce Back Against Cal?

For the first time in nearly two nears, Caleb Williams might not be the consensus-best overall player in college football in the public’s eye. You don’t think he’s heard all the talk about him never able to win a big game? Because of the recent struggles of Caleb and USC, I’m not willing to back the sharp Cal Bears in this contest, but I do have a play I love that I think you’re going to get behind…

USC vs. California Prediction

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching CFB, it’s that one player can take over and win their team a game. You can’t really do that in the NFL as much, and with the exception of Patrick Mahomes, nobody usually does. In college, one player can change the entire game, and I have a feeling Caleb Williams is about to take over this game on Saturday

The former Heisman QB didn’t seem fazed from his most recent two losses, as he attended the Lakers game the other night sitting court-side. This kid knows he was born to play the quarterback position, the hardest position in any sport. He might put up a 50-burger himself in this offense looking to get their first win in three weeks. I don’t love this team or offense this year, but against a Cal team that’s been fake-sharp all season, I’m willing to buy their offense this week in a bounce-back spot.

Although the Cal Bears might be sharp on the spread this weekend, even I’m not willing to bet on them here. I can bet on their offense though, that has looked much better with their third quarterback of the season under center. Ever since Fernando Mendoza, the freshman, took over this offense, they’ve looked much better. The kid has some serious confidence, too. Check out what he said about USC’s defense this week…

I don’t blame him for chirping the Trojans defense for having a bad rap in the media, they are overrated. They’ve given up more than 40 points in three of their last four games, a concerning stat. Let’s fade these two defenses, and bet the over. The total has already jumped from 61.5 to 65.5 with 50% of the handle completely split on the over and under on DraftKings. Bet this over before it gets any higher, I see both teams putting up points in the mid to high thirties at least in this spot. Cal finally has the right pieces on the field with their freshman QB and Jeremiah Hunter, and this is a massive buy-low spot on the best quarterback in the nation. Bet the over and enjoy the offensive fireworks in this one; Caleb Williams is going to be looking to prove all the doubters wrong.
