The Seattle Seahawks battle the Dallas Cowboys taking place from Jerry’s World on Friday nights as these two teams will play their final preseason game. The Cowboys come into this game 1-1 in the preseason, while the Seahawks enter play 0-2 in preseason games this year. As we know, records are meaningless in the preseason but what is important is figuring out the roster you will enter the season with.
The Seahawks have a giant question mark at the most important position. The QB battle is between Drew Lock and veteran Geno Smith. Lock tested positive for COVID, so he could not play in the last preseason game but is expected to see a ton of time tonight. Lock was acquired from Denver in the Russel Wilson trade and is still trying to prove himself in the league. Smith has been a career backup looking for a chance in the league as a starter.
Seattle is expected to be one of the worst teams in football this season. They are in a rebuilding phase, and the current roster that they have simply is not that talented. They also play in one of the best divisions in football in the NFC West.
The Cowboys will look to snap their championship drought this year as they enter as the favorites in the NFC East. Dallas had a great regular season last year, but they were bounced in the first round by the San Francisco 49ers. This is a talented roster, but the question is can they win games when they matter? You will not see many regulars in this game tonight for Dallas.
I am backing the Seahawks in this game tonight. Dallas will be playing backups for the majority of this one, and Seattle will have the much better players in action. Drew Lock and Geno Smith should both get time, and they are both much better than anything Dallas has to offer. The guys on defense for the Cowboys tonight likely will be third or fourth-string guys. For that reason, I think Seattle has their way on offense tonight and can roll in this spot.
