ANALYSIS

Panthers vs Browns Same-Game Parlay (+579): Building Around Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb

The Carolina Panthers will welcome the Cleveland Browns to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the first game of the regular season. The Browns elected to go a different route in the offseason and traded for Deshaun Watson with the Texans. However, Watson has been suspended for the first 11 games of the season, and now the Browns will have to try and win games with Jacoby Brissett. Meanwhile, because the Browns added Watson to the roster, Baker Mayfield asked to be traded and was granted a trade to the Carolina Panthers. Mayfield eventually won the job over Sam Darnold for the starting quarterback position. Darnold eventually got hurt, but Mayfield already had the starting spot before Darnold's injury. Using all we know about these two teams and last year's stats, I've put together a three-leg Same-Game Parlay for readers to consider in the Browns and Panthers game on Sunday.

Carolina Panthers vs. Cleveland Browns Same-Game Parlay Picks

Browns (-112)

The Carolina Panthers look good on paper, at least offensively. Christian McCaffrey is back at running back with Baker Mayfield at quarterback. But is Mayfield an upgrade over Sam Darnold? Maybe slightly, but the reality is that the Panthers struggled in the passing game all season long. The pass protection wasn't up to par and probably won't be good this year. If we're being honest, the run block wasn't great either for the Panthers. The Panthers and Browns have struggled to stop the run, but the Browns are the one team that can push a line and block in the run game. Give me the Browns at -112.

Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown (-125)

Christian McCaffrey is an elite talent. However, he's rarely healthy anymore. The Panthers will do whatever they can to get McCaffrey involved in this game. He's a great pass catcher, but he can also find holes in the running game. Around the red zone, Carolina will want to put the ball in McCaffrey's hands so he can go and make a play or two. Let's grab him to score a touchdown in this game.

Nick Chubb Anytime Touchdown (+100)

Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb have been going after each other in the media. It was a borderline ugly breakup between the two. The Browns aren't going to want to put Jacoby Brissett under more pressure than already under. Around the goalline, Nick Chubb will get the call. He's a big running back that can power his way through defenders to get to the goal line and score. Again, the Panthers were extremely bad against the run last year and should end up being just as bad this year.
