Two teams with plenty of optimism from their fan bases will square off Sunday in the Meadowlands, as the 2-1 Chicago Bears head east to take on the New York Giants. With the play of their quarterbacks being the focal point of both teams, let’s take a closer look at three-player prop picks I’m keyed in on as kickoff approaches.

Giants vs. Bears Predictions

Justin Fields - Passing Yards Under 146.5 (-115)

With only 297 passing yards so far in three complete games, Fields’ incompetence in throwing the ball downfield has been sad; if not impressive. Chicago has run the ball on a staggering 65.4 percent of its offensive snaps thus far, which is a full 11 percent more than any other team. This is primarily due to the Bears' rush-heavy game plans.

In three games, Fields has only attempted 45 passes, and he has connected on 23 of them, barely completing half of them. In his three games so far, he has ended with passing yard totals of 121, 70, and 106 while averaging only 6.6 yards per attempt.

The Giants' average offense, which ranks 18th with 18.7 points per game and allows the eighth-most rushing yards per game (138.3), won't likely force the Bears into a pass-heavy catch-up mode. Despite the lower number, all signs still point towards Fields going under it.

Saquan Barkley - Rushing Yards Over 80.5 (-115)

In the Giants' Week 1 victory over the Titans, Barkley was named the MVP after rushing for 164 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Following that, he put up a less impressive but no less admirable performance against the Panthers, carrying the ball 21 times for a total of 72 yards.

In Week 3, if his team hadn't trailed for the whole fourth quarter, he might have had more opportunities on the ground. Following Sterling Shepard, the top wide receiver for New York, suffering a season-ending ACL injury, head coach Brian Daboll is probably going to push his workhorse running back a little harder in this game.

The Bears have struggled to stop the run thus far in 2022, giving up 157 running yards per game, the second-worst average in the NFL, through three games. They gave up 176 yards to the diverse 49ers rush attack before giving up 193 yards to the Packers tailback duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. By gaining a season-high 80 yards on the ground in Week 3, Texans rookie Dameon Pierce contributed to this unit's struggles.

With windy conditions predicted, Barkley shouldn't have to share carries with a reliable backup and will likely receive many handoffs from Jones. Barkley may easily breach this threshold in opposition to a poor collection of defenders.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Khalil Herbert (+150)

With three touchdowns on the season, the Bears running back has half of the team’s touchdowns on the season and has become a focal point of a unit with little else to speak of in the way of talent. While we’ve already touched on Fields’ incompetencies, I like for Herbert to find paydirt here.
