Tonight is about redemption. Not just for anyone who lost cash betting sports yesterday, but also for James Richard Garoppolo. Imagine leading a team to a Super Bowl and in that Super Bowl, jumping out to a 20-10 lead after three quarters. Then some things happen, maybe you have a bad fourth quarter, and your team loses that Super Bowl 31-20. Then the next year you get hurt, so your team decides to draft a quarterback to take your place? What the hell is that about? The story doesn't end there though. The guy they drafted wasn't even ready to play so all you do is go out and bring your team to within three points of going back to another Super Bowl. Like a boss. Then the next season you get replaced by the new guy? All because you had a bad fourth quarter in a Super Bowl? It's the Fresh Prince all over again (he got in one little fight and had to move). The story isn't over yet though. Now, as fate would have it, the guy your team got to replace you gets hurt. Guess who's crawling back begging for help? You guessed it, the team that tried to dump you. I know what I would do if I was James Richard Garoppolo.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction
Jimmy Garoppolo 225+ Passing Yards (+100) (Bet $100 to Win $100)
We're at FanDuel for this one since they have ladders. If we're being honest, I don't even consider looking at other books anymore. That's just the way it will be until everyone has ladders. We need moonshots. We just do. Right now we could go 250+ (+174), 275+ (+310) or even 300+ (+580). Try doing that at books other than FanDuel. It's slow going. Or you have to parlay it with something else. It's madness on the streets.
If I were Jimmy Garoppolo, I'd be pretty pissed about how things have gone down in San Francisco. I know because it's happened to me back in middle school with Amanda Shilling. As soon as we hit eighth grade she found something "better" in Scott Markum (bum). Some would say I had it worse than Jimmy Garoppolo because the kid that took my place didn't break his ankle. In fact, he didn't break anything. I legit prayed for something like that to happen and it just didn't. I don't know where I'm going with this, I'm just saying I know how Jimmy Garoppolo must feel. Not great.
Unlike my situation in middle school, Jimmy Garoppolo gets a shot at redemption and he gets it tonight. Now people are going to say that he hasn't hit 225+ yards all season but he's only played one full game. I heard the guy didn't even have a playbook all summer so it's definitely not his fault. Still, he threw for 211 yards last week. That's pretty damn close to 225. Given the situation tonight, this could be the greatest bet of all time.
What most don't realize is that the Rams have a really good run defense. Some say they're the best. The thing is, it's a Willie Mays Hayes situation. They may stop the run like Mays, but they cover receivers like shit. Only 11 teams in the NFL have given up more receiving yards to the wide receiver position this season. That doesn't sound bad until you realize all of those teams that have given up more have all played an extra game. My guess is the Rams take away the run and force Jimmy Garoppolo to beat them. They've done that the last two times these teams have met and Jimmy Garoppolo went 225+ both times. I think he does it again tonight.
