Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts Prediction
The Colts come into play repressing a record of 1-2-1, while the Broncos bring in a record of 2-2. The issue for Denver has been moving the football and scoring points. The Broncos scored twenty-plus points for the first time all season last week, and they sit towards the bottom of the NFL in points per game.
Russell Wilson was added to the roster in the off-season, and many people believed that this move would set them up to be a playoff team. Wilson has not looked great thru his first four games, but the team remains confident in number three. The strong suit for the Broncos has been their defense. They were not great last week against the Raiders, but the three weeks prior, they were outstanding.
The Colts come into this game desperately in need of a win. Indianapolis entered the year as the favorite to come out of the AFC South. They are coming off a bad home loss to the Titans, and they have a tie on their record against the Houston Texans. They made a move for a veteran QB in the off-season as well when they added Matt Ryan. Things have not gone smoothly for Ryan and the company either, as the Colts have struggled to score points.
I love the Broncos in this spot on Thursday night football. This is a team that is much better than they have displayed and I trust that they bounce back here in week five at home. This is a tough place to play for a road team, especially on a short week. Denver has one of the best run defenses in the NFL, and I trust that they can limit their run game of Taylor and force the Colts into a style of play that they are not comfortable with. On the other side of the ball, the Colts defense has not been impressive, and I expect Russ to get things going against them in prime time. Let’s stay hot on the gridiron!
