When I was a kid, moving lines was just a dream. You'd call your bookie and ask if he'd do it and he'd always just laugh at you. Well, who's laughing now Fat Tony (RIP)? Every major book I know of lets us move lines and it's a beautiful thing. I love it. What I like most about it is you can just move through key numbers. It's not like a teaser where you have to move a certain amount. Just take what you need and leave the rest. Feels right.
The first leg of this thing is tonight with the Indianapolis Colts +8. Do I think the Colts are good? No. But I also think that the Denver Broncos aren't good enough to beat anyone by eight points. They haven't done it yet this season. I also think it's time to start thinking about whether or not Russell Wilson is washed. He looks kind of washed. It's tough to really pick a "winner" in this pillow fight, but when that happens, just move the dog up to just above a touchdown. We just want a close one tonight. That could easily happen.
This is the "obvious" pick and we all know what can happen with those but this one feels legit. Matt Ruhle is not an NFL coach and Baker Mayfield just isn't an NFL quarterback. That's a bad combination when your next game is against the San Francisco 49ers. (I think this is the week Rhule gets fired actually.) I get that the Niners are traveling east on a short week but this game is at 4:05 pm ET instead of the 1:00 pm ET slot. At least they have that going for them. On top of the NFL's best defense. We just saw an NFC West team come into Carolina and bitchslap the Panthers last week. And they (Arizona Cardinals) aren't even good. I can't imagine what the Niners are about to do to Carolina.
