I know this is a high number but I still like him to beat it. Dalvin Cook is such an amazing runner. He runs especially great in games where the game script goes his way. Dalvin Cook last year was 6/6 on this prop in wins and this year is 2/3 in wins with his only miss falling just short with 76 yards. This was last week against the Saints who have a tough run defense. If he can run for 76 against the Saints then he can surely run for 79+ against a Bears team who allow the 3rd most rushing yards to RBs so far this year.
Chicago has allowed 146 yards to Saquon, 80 yards to Dameon Pierce, and 132 yards to Aaron Jones during the past 3 weeks. Dalvin Cook has hit this prop in four straight games versus Chicago and the Bears have honestly overachieved starting the year 2-2. I don’t see a world where Minnesota blows this game and allows Justin Fields and Chicago to open the year with a winning record through 5 games.
Dalvin Cook is just a special talent and we’ve already seen him run for 90+ yards twice this year. We just need 79 and this game gives me a feeling that he could run for 100+. With Green Bay tied with Minnesota at 3-1, I expect the Vikings to do everything they can to dominate their weaker opponents this year which should lead to plenty of 2nd half-running of the ball to chew the clock. Dalvin could see 20+ carries in this one assuming nothing silly with his shoulder happens again. You could wait on this one hoping to see a better line or potentially live bet it but I don’t want to personally take that risk and I want to guarantee exposure to this elite runner against this brutal run defense.
