I want to lay more than one unit but we will be conservative here. Tua is out for Miami so the Dolphins only enter this game as field goal favorites but I do project running in all four quarters. I think Mostert has taken over as the lead runner in Miami’s offense as he saw 15 handoffs last week to Edmonds 5. Mostert has such big play upside he can hit a chunk of this in just one play. Sometimes the Jets look to have a functional run defense and other games look completely lost. This number is too low to avoid thought and he could hit this off volume alone and do it inefficiently.
The Jets last week allowed Najee Harris to hit a season high in rushing and that was in a weird game script where the Jets pulled off the upset. I don’t see the Jets upsetting two weeks in a row and Miami should bounce back and be well-rested after losing last week on Thursday Night Football. If Mostert runs the ball 12 times we pretty much just need 4 yards a carry. In 2020 Mostert averaged 5 yards a carry and this year just 3.8. I expect some positive regression.
Teddy Bridgewater is more than a serviceable fill-in for Tua and should help lead this game to a script that favors Mostert to see some late-game runs that could clutch for us. Mostert seeing 15 runs in a loss last week makes me think he could see even more looks if Miami takes off to an early lead. Zach Wilson is back for New York and looked improved last week but this is a reality notice for New York and a perfect bounce-back spot for a very good Miami team. This number is just too small and I expect it to rise into the 50s as the week progresses. Let's get on this quick and let's roll!
