At NRG Stadium in Week 4, the Chargers held off the Houston Texans to win and cover by a score of 34-24. Los Angeles has now gone over the total in its last 2 games while covering 3 of its last 4 games overall.
For the Browns, the under came in, as they lost to the Falcons 23-20 in Atlanta after blowing a fourth-quarter lead. In each of its first four games, Cleveland has alternated between straight-up and ATS victories. After three consecutive Over results to start the campaign, the under result was it's first.
Let’s take a look at three players I think could make an impact in this one.
Cleveland Browns vs. Los Angeles Chargers Best Anytime TD Picks
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Kareem Hunt (+165)
While Nick Chubb gets the majority of the attention on early downs, there is no better RB2 in the league than Hunt. Now, he gets his shot at a Charger’s defense that has been susceptible to the running game all season long to this point.
With uncertainty still surrounding the quarterback position, look for the Browns to once again rely heavily on the rush and for Hunt to get plenty of third-down chances on the Chargers’ end of the field. It also helps that the Chargers have allowed an NFL-high three touchdowns to running backs through air.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Austin Ekeler (-115)
Ekeler, who now ranks as #3 in the league while averaging 21.6 fantasy points per game (PPR), made a name for himself as a top-tier back in this league last season. With 20 targets through the air this season already, Ekeler is sixth among running backs, and that gives us another out to get this one home.
With 20 targets, Ekeler is sixth among running backs, and that gives us another out to get this one home. In comparison to his 17 red-zone carries in 10 games last season, he has already amassed 12 in four games this year. The Browns are solid at stopping the run, but with Miles Garrett's status for this one uncertain, I think we see Eckeler find the end zone.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Mike Williams (+125)
Through the first four games of the season, Williams has alternated one week on and one week off for touchdowns. Even though he didn't score in Week 4, he did finish the game with his 120 receiving yards, and it's just a matter of when he finds the end zone again.
With Keenan Allen once again out in this one, I like for Williams to be RB1 and find the end zone before this one is all said and done. Against a depleted Browns line, I also wouldn’t be surprised for Williams to be featured in some sweeps.
