On Sunday, the Seahawks will travel to New Orleans to an exciting afternoon showdown against the Saints. The Seattle Seahawks are currently 2-2 with Geno Smith under center. Coming into the year, Drew Lock was expected to beat out Geno Smith for the QB1 job. However, Smith won the job in the preseason and through four games, has completed the highest percentage of passes of any quarterback in the league.
It also seems like Seattle's enjoyed Smith at quarterback more than Russell Wilson. That could be why Seattle's quietly overachieving to begin the year. Seattle's offense has been lots of fun. They've earned 374 yards per game and have averaged close to 24 points per game. Meanwhile, the Saints are 1-2 on the season and haven't been great at rushing the passer on the defensive end. Smith's thrown six touchdowns and just two interceptions to begin the year. He's also got some really good playmakers, including D.K. Metcalf, who has made some tremendous plays this season along with Tyler Lockett.
Meanwhile, the Saints still don't know if they'll have Jameis Winston back under center this week. There's probably a better chance that Alvin Kamara could start, despite his rib injury. We'll also have to see if Michael Thomas can get back into action.
No matter who the Saints play on offense, they'll have success going up against a Seattle defense that has done nothing well. Maybe they've been okay rushing the passer, but that's about it. So I'm expecting some points in this game. Below we'll review some of the best anytime touchdown options in this game between the Seattle Seahawks vs. New Orleans Saints.
New Orleans Saints vs. Seattle Seahawks Best Anytime TD Picks
D.K. Metcalf Anytime Touchdown (+200) (Bet $100 to win $200)
Metcalf is coming off a seven-reception game against the Lions where he added 149 yards receiving. He didn't score a touchdown in the game against the Lions but he still saw 10 targets and averaged 21.3 yards per catch.
Metcalf is a huge target for Smith and the pass rush for the Saints shouldn't give the Seattle offensive line too much trouble in this game. If Smith has time in the pocket, he's going to have plenty of chances to connect with Metcalf down the field.
Chris Olave Anytime Touchdown (+230) (Bet $100 to win $230)
The Seahawks have allowed 284.3 yards per game in the air. As of now, we don't know about the running back situation or even the starting quarterback. But no matter if it's Winston or Dalton, Olave has been a consistent receiver for both quarterbacks.
The rookie receiver is coming off a four-catch performance for the Saints where he earned 67 yards receiving and a touchdown on seven targets. I'm confident regardless of the starting quarterback.
Jarvis Landry Anytime Touchdown (+270) (Bet $100 to win $210)
Landry was barely looked at last week. He's probably a better play if it's Winston under center. But either way, the Saints need to find more ways to get Landry the ball. Landry has declined from nine targets in the first game to just two targets in the most recent game. He still doesn't have a touchdown yet, but if Kamara is out again, Landry should start to be utilized more in this offense.
