This one won’t be popular but I see the value.
1u- Cam Akers Over 41.5 Rush Yards (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)
This is not a guy many people are high on, and for good reason. Akers, since being Henderson's backup in Week 1, is still only 2/4 on this prop. He is averaging a dreadful 3 yards per carry on average and is being released across many fantasy leagues that I see. Despite that, this number is just too low for the amount of volume he sees and the opponent he will be facing.
Akers doesn’t even have to run efficiently to hit this number. He could still run for 3 yards a carry as long he gets the ball 14 times. That number isn’t impossible as the Rams enter this game as double-digit favorites. Akers could actually smash this number if he’s still getting the volume he’s been receiving. Akers has hit this prop in five of their last seven wins throughout his career, and this is such a juicy matchup.
The Panthers allow the 7th most rushing yards to running backs, and they have allowed this prop to all five running backs they have faced all year. Even if Akers receives less work because of his ineffectiveness, this number is still too low and worth laying a unit on. If Akers is still RB1 and receives the workhorse role like he did last week, then this has a great chance of hitting. I don’t expect this to be a popular play, but the data backs it up, and the game script should play in our favor.
