NFL Week 6: Green Bay Packers vs. New York Jets Best Player Prop Picks

Packers vs. Jets Start Time, Where to Watch, and Odds

  • Date: Sunday, October 16
  • Time: 1:00 pm ET
  • Where to Watch: FOX

In Week 5, the Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 40-17 despite being 3.5-point underdogs. Zach Wilson completed 14 of his 21 passes for 210 yards, no interceptions, and no passing touchdowns. He did, however, join Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Braxton Berrios as one of only four Jets to score on the ground.

After losing to the New York Giants 27-22 in London, the Packers have returned home to try and get their season back on track. The Pack led 20-10 at the half, but they were held scoreless in the second half until a safety with 11 seconds left in the game. Aaron Rodgers completed 25 of 39 passes for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns. With 7 catches on 13 targets for 99 yards, WR Randall Cobb topped all receivers, and RB Aaron Jones led the ground game with 63 yards on 13 attempts.

Let’s take a look at three players I see making an impact this week.

(Odds via DraftKings)

Green Bay Packers vs. New York Jets Best Player Prop Picks

Allen Lazard - Receiving Yards Over 47.5 (-115)

Breece Hall - Rushing + Receiving Yards Over 82.5 (-115)

Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Robert Tonyan (+155)

Allen Lazard - Receiving Yards Over 47.5 (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)

Slowly but surely, Aaron Rodgers is putting trust into his receivers; starting with Allen Lazard. So far this season, Lazard is now averaging 52.3 yards per game through the air, though has only eclipsed this number in one game (October 2nd vs. Patriots.

Coming into this game, I expect Lazard’s targets to increase with the Jets' propensity to put points on the board. In a game I expect to turn into a shootout, I like for Lazard to rack up well more than 50 yards in this one.

Breece Hall - Rushing + Receiving Yards Over 82.5 (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)

Breece Hall, the Jets' rookie halfback, finally delivered the blockbuster performance that many fans had been waiting for last week. In the Jets' 40-17 thrashing of Miami, he amassed 197 all-purpose yards and added a touchdown on the ground.

It is reasonable to assume that Hall has now displaced Michael Carter as the starting tailback as he leads all tailbacks in touches for the third consecutive week. It goes without saying,  Hall is a dual-threat player who excels in both the running and passing games and I expect this number in the market to increase every week.

I don't, however, think that it is caught up quite yet.  Hall has matched or eclipsed this number in almost every game this season and only recently has become RB1.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Robert Tonyan (+155) (Bet $100 to win $155)

Eluding to my point earlier in this game becoming a shootout, I look for Rodgers to get his tight end involved early and often. With 17 receptions on the season, Tonyan has just one touchdown, with an average reception length of 7.6 yards per catch.

I like for him to get back into the end zone in this one.
