Malik Willis Over 43.5 Rushing Yards (-120) (Bet $100 to Collect $180) BetMGM has the best odds, click here to bet
Sometimes you encounter cowards in the sports betting space, and we've done that today. The only book I've seen with Malik Willis props so far is BetMGM. That's crazy. We've got a guy making his first NFL start, and both DraftKings and FanDuel are sitting on their hands. It's disgusting. At the time when we need a 50+ rushing yards number at plus money like nothing else, we can't even get it. It's a sad day to be an American.
Malik Willis was a fun guy to bet at Liberty. I had the pleasure of doing it many, many times. But there is reason to believe that in the pros, Malik Willis will be even more fun to drop some coin on than Malik Willis in college. Especially in the rushing yards market. You see, in college, when a quarterback is sacked, the yards come off of his rushing total. That's not the case in the pros, and I love it.
Now obviously, we don't have a lot to go on with Willis since he's making his first start. But if the preseason is any indication as to what we can expect, I'd say rushing yards are at the top of the list. Willis went 38, 42, and 79 in the rushing yards department in three games. Keep in mind we're not talking full games here. My theory is this guy takes off running at least 10 times today. He never had more than five attempts in any of those preseason games.
Defense kind of matters here. Kind of. Although I think the books have no way of accurately posting a real line here, still we need to consider the Houston Texans' defense because we are responsible gamblers. That's what responsible gamblers do. They consider defense. While the Texans haven't seen a lot of guys who can run, they did allow Justin Fields to go for 47 yards on the ground against them. I don't think that means much but take it for what it's worth. I think Willis flies over this number.
